The accessible mountain: Valentina Tomirotti reached the summit

08/07/2019

The unstoppable journalist on the wheelchair has overcome three thousand meters of vertical drop: a quantum leap forward, unimaginable few years ago. Valentina accomplished her mission thanks to new technologies - a car with high-tech adaptations, a disabled-accessible cable car, a path which is suitable for people with reduced mobility and the firm intention to achieve new goals and promote accessible tourism. From the pages of her blog - and not only - she is fighting for the full inclusion of people with disabilities, sometimes with strokes of irony and irreverence. Inclusion that is intended to lead to increased participation in socially expected activities and this involves more than simply encouraging people. Valentina puts a spotlight on the right of everyone to live a thousand adventures around the world, starting from the wondrous Dolomites.

From Mantua to the summit cross of Mount Lagazuoi, at an altitude of 2.778 metres. Full of zest and enthusiasm, the journalist and blogger Valentina faced a trip with almost 3000 meters of difference in altitude on her wheelchair, realizing a dream: indipendently, without external help ,on 6th July she reached the summit of Mt. Lagazuoi.

HERE'S THE VIDEO OF HER MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE

Maybe that a panorama like this is able to expand the perspectives, reduce the differences and make everybody feel tiny and just grateful for the simple fact of being there.
