Guided visit of the open air museum of WW1 on Mt. Lagazuoi with a re-enactor

“We learn from history that we do not learn from history.”
Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel

The essential difference between a historical re-enactment and a scenic use of uniforms and war  equipment is knowledge: a historical re-enactor does more than merely wear an antique uniform. He recreates the environment and the atmosphere associated with that particular historical period.
The re-enactors are people who have spent many years studying history, aspects of military and civil life of the time.
People who wear a uniform to commemorate all those made a lasting contribution to peace, who are against the war, who believe that we have responsibilities in the present because of our recent past.
