Cortina SkiMo Cup – Final stage of the Ski Mountaineering World Cup 2023-2024

Cortina d'Ampezzo, 6th-10th April 2024
Disciplines Vertical, Individual, Sprint and Mixed Relay

In April 2024, the area between the Falzarego Pass, the 5 Torri and Col Gallina - Cortina Delicious - will host the third edition of the Cortina Skimo Cup. This year, Cortina is the final stage of the 2023/24 International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF) competition calendar for the Ski Mountaineering World Cup.
These will be four intense competition days to prepare for the premiere of ski mountaineering at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympic Games.

On Saturday, 6th April, the first day of this major international ski mountaineering event will feature the Vertical discipline, with skiers conquering Mount Lagazuoi on a route with an elevation gain of almost 700 metres.

The athletes will start near the Col Gallina Refuge (men's start at 9:30 a.m. - women's start at 10:15 a.m.) and finish the race just below the Lagazuoi Refuge at an altitude of 2,752 metres. It will be a spectacular race, both from a technical and scenic point of view.

Those interested in witnessing the race's arrival can buy a special return ticket for just 15 euros, purchasable at the Lagazuoi cable car ticket counter until noon (the ski pass is anyway valid). Please note: on 6th April the Falzarego piste will be closed until noon.

At the cable car top station, the Lagazuoi Terrace Bar by Embassy will offer spectators an excellent Mountain Coffee Bar service.

The Individual Cup races will be held on Sunday, 7th April, between Col Gallina and the summit of Croda Negra (2,580 m), one of the most impressive sections of this race route with spectacular passages in the WW1 tunnels. The finish line will be next to the Col Gallina Refuge.

Following a day of rest, the athletes will vie for the Sprint title on Tuesday, 9th April, and the Mixed Relay title on Wednesday, 10th April. The 2026 Olympics will see the inclusion of these two disciplines for the very first time. Both competitions will commence and conclude at the Col Gallina Refuge.

In order to allow for the races to take place, some slopes and lifts in our ski area will be closed to skiers. See the the detailed list >>>

The start of all races is at Col Gallina with its stunning Ovest 6 slope, which, together with the Lino Lacedelli slope, constitutes the Cortina Delicious Ski Training Centre.

This sporting event's headquarters is the Col Gallina Refuge, situated in proximity to the Falzarego chairlift valley station.

► The Cortina Delicious Consortium is bringing the PalaSkiMo Delicious marquee to Col Gallina, offering the perfect spot for the public to indulge in traditional delicacies and have a great time before, during, and after the races. See the full programme >>
