Lagazuoi Winning Ideas Mountain Awards: the winners of the third edition

05/04/2022

Augmented reality telling the story of the Dolomites, vocational training to become a dairy farmer, ski suits made from apple processing waste, solid soluble beverages to take with you in your backpack, an antagonistic pub, the new concept of a mini waste shredder, participatory territorial communication, new digital forest workers: these are the many prize-winning ideas and projects awarded for the 3rd edition of the competition. It is curated by the Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti, the exhibition centre at 2,732 metres of altitude between Cortina and the Badia Valley.

It puts the spotlight on start-ups, companies and communities capable of enhancing the mountains as a place naturally devoted to innovation from a socially and environmentally sustainable point of view.
The exhibition of the winning projects will be open from June 2022 until March 2023.

Cortina d’Ampezzo, 5th April 2022_These are the winners of the third edition of the Lagazuoi Winning Ideas Mountain Awards, a curatorial project of Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti: those who counteract the depopulation of the Alps by focusing on new generations of dairy farmers and small forest owners, those who invest in new supply chains which recycle food waste, those who are developing new ways to bring people to the highlands by reinventing the concept of sustainable tourism.

It is an unstoppable high-tech revolution promoted by this competition which brings companies, start-ups and communities facing the challenges of the highlands up to the exhibition centre at the top station of the Lagazuoi cable car at an altitude of 2,732 metres.

The exhibition can be visited from June 4th, with the start of the summer season, and will be open until March 2023. From this edition onwards, the respective final exhibition is assigned a permanent place in the Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti and its display will be renewed from year to year.

To determine the winners, four juries were set up, one for each category. Each consists of three experts: journalists, entrepreneurs, representatives of institutions and at least one university professor, all of them having a close connection to the mountains.
