In one of the highest exhibition spaces in Europe, a new visual grammar is being showcased.

The new exhibition at Lagazuoi Expo Dolomiti, scheduled from June 19 to September 3, 2025, will explore the world of the mountains and beyond through a fresh and unique visual language.

Giulia Neri's universe, composed of "nature, feelings, and clouds," is set to be showcased with an original work dedicated to the 2026 Olympics, titled Blooming.

Cortina d'Ampezzo, June 5, 2025 - Exactly eight months before the opening of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti announces the launch of Above the Clouds. The Lagazuoi Expo Dolomiti is expanding as an international laboratory suspended between sky and rock, continually discovering new ways to blend nature, art, innovation, and social commitment into a multisensory experience.

On display from June 19 to September 3, 2025, is a new cultural narrative at high altitude, in anticipation of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games, to which the artist dedicates an original work specially created for this exhibition. It's called Blooming and will be one of the 40 works on display: "Exhibiting at 2,732 meters above sea level," explains Giulia Neri, "is a very important milestone in my journey so far." From Lagazuoi, you can see "life above the clouds." A perspective that led me to choose life at high altitudes.

Giulia, who left her hometown of Bologna to live in the heart of the South Tyrolean Dolomites, in Val Pusteria, says it was a necessary choice for her. It allowed her to "find the right serenity and the perfect environment to experience constant inspiration for my creative process, which involves contemplation, solitude, and introspection." A lifestyle that has brought her creations to the covers of international magazines, including The Wall Street Journal and The Guardian.

The exhibition will unveil the artist's world, divided into three stages or dimensions. The first room showcases works related to Nature, featuring a series of illustrations that highlight the beauty of life at high altitudes: "My story begins with the mountains, the place I have chosen as my home." The exhibition continues with a section dedicated to Feelings: "I worked as a psychologist for many years, but then I realized that my true passion is capturing human emotions through my artistic work."

It concludes in a room that seems tailor-made for this narrative, featuring a panoramic window at its center, with the section Above the clouds: "forms that bring depth to the skies, which I consider essential for the artistic story." For me, they also symbolize the bond I have with the mountains and the place I've chosen to live.

"Hosting Giulia Neri's art in our spaces is an opportunity to explore the mountains from fresh perspectives. "Above the clouds, indeed," comments Stefano Illing, creator of the Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti, adding, "With this exhibition, we are delighted to contribute to celebrating important events and anniversaries for Cortina and its region. We'll reveal them as we go along.

The exhibition Above the Clouds will serve as a "bridge" to the fourth edition of the Ripido Illustration Festival 2025, the only illustration exhibition in the Dolomites, scheduled to take place in Brunico from July 5 to August 16, 2025. This year, the event will feature both foreign and Italian illustrators, showcasing a total of 400 works, 10 exhibitions, and 170 authors across 5 exhibition spaces. "With this partnership, I am delighted to help create a connection between South Tyrol and Veneto," concludes artist Giulia Neri.

  •     The exhibition is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.
  •     The visit is free.

Giulia Neri
Born in Bologna and now living in a small town in the Dolomites, Giulia Neri has transformed her dual background in art and psychology into a unique visual language. After graduating in psychology and attending a specialization school in cognitive constructivist psychotherapy, she left clinical work to fully dedicate herself to illustration. Her works, often dedicated to the inner landscapes of the human soul, are published by international magazines and publishers. They are now part of prestigious permanent collections, such as the Farnesina Gallery of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome and the UN headquarters in Vienna.

As a psychologist of illustration and a conceptual illustrator, Giulia is particularly attentive to all aspects of emotion. Thanks to her remarkable introspective abilities, she focuses on the various facets of human interiority. Soft colors and the absence of backgrounds allow the figures to emerge, creating atmospheres immersed in the deepest tranquility. The same as the mountains where she lives.

The works on display
The exhibited works are fine art prints on 100% cotton Hahnemühle German Etching 310gr paper, in limited editions, available in sizes 30x40, 40x50, and 60x80. They can be purchased by contacting the artist directly.
