Developed in close partnership with the proficient mountaineers of 'Ragni di Lecco', the Silex jacket by Rock Experience is the ultimate fusion of technical expertise and mountain expertise.
Designed to meet the demand for a versatile garment, the Silex hybrid jacket provides optimal body temperature control, lightweight construction, and breathability. Its development process involved the use of high-quality materials and a focus on body mapping. Proper temperature regulation is vital in activities such as ski mountaineering or climbing, where frequent bursts of intense activity are followed by moments of stillness. This fact has led to the need to use different materials and fabrics in the diverse areas of the body. The front placement of the HolesNet padding, along with its perforated design, not only keeps the garment lightweight but also facilitates optimal airflow and the dissipation of water vapour during the most intense activities to maintain the perfect thermal balance.
Sleeves, back, sides and hooded lining are made of Octopus yarn, ensuring lightness, comfort and extra warmth thanks to its octagonal section construction. The breathability is also guaranteed by the sub-manic inserts elasticized and perforated through laser technology, enabling a wide freedom of movement.
The external front and hood feature an ultralight 10d nylon Ripstop fabric, known for its durability and ability to offer lightweight protection. Two large zipped pockets positioned on the chest are easily accessible even if you are wearing a harness and gloves. If maintained open, they add further ventilation thanks to the internal mesh lining. The cuffs are in double Lycra that, in addition to making them resistant to abrasion, ensures an anatomical and comfortable fit. Lycra tape is also used on the edge of the hood to make it snug over the head and protect against wind and cold.
Silex by Rock Experience is an ultra-technical garment, developed down to the smallest detail by the most demanding mountaineers, to wear or to always have in your backpack on every ascent; it is packable in its left pocket with minimal bulk.
